Talent is overrated

TLDR: Will make you feel like a loser, in all the right ways. JK. It will motivate you to realize there’s more to being good at something.

I got this book during COVID, and actually read it as Bray was just months old. On the days that Lo (my wife) would give me a break from the newborn, I would drive to this parking lot just a minute down the road, throw ‘er in park, and dive in.

I’m kind of a ‘Jack of all trades,’ and it’s always been sort of rough to figure out what I want to commit to. This book completely wiped out any notion that I could rest on my laurels.

Practice. Practice, practice, practice. It’s dedication that’s most important in any and every endeavor. You have natural skills, absolutely - those will get you so far. AND to boot, there’s only a very, VERY select few that have literal world class unbeatable talent - the rest need to put in the work.

I recommend this to you if you’re wondering what steps to take next. It’s a fire FOR SURE.
